Shannon Barrett - Instructor Shannon is a ‘B’ level graduate from Difficult Run Pony Club. Throughout her tenure she was a heavily active pony clubber participating regularly in rallies, ground schools, summer camps, and Championships. Due to her background with Pony Club, Shannon has ridden and worked with a wide variety of horses and riders. Over the years she has been able to work in multiple disciplines to include, dressage, show jumping, hunters, equitation, gymkhana, fox hunting, natural horsemanship, and eventing. Due to the large variety of experiences she has had; Shannon has a vast pool of knowledge and exercises to pull from to help cross train riders without being biased to one discipline. Though the core of her skill set lies in Eventing as she has successfully competed at the preliminary level in her teens before focusing on a younger horse and college. She has shown successfully at multiple USEA Recognized Events, both long and short format. She graduated from Bridgewater College in 2015 with a Computer Science Degree. Shannon has now found her way to teaching at Silver Eagle Stables and looks forward to helping riders and horses unlock their potential.

Chris and Tammy are a co-managerial team who have an engineering and law enforcement background. Tammy has had a love of horses since an early age and is a proud Army Brat. Chris embraces the challenges of property management. They have been married for 29 years and have many plans to keep improving Silver Eagle!
Drew Van Hook - Head Trainer
We are proud to introduce Mr. Drew Van Hook. Drew is the Manager and Head Trainer for Silver Eagle Stable, he is an American Quarter Horse Association recognized, and certified...A.Q.H.A. Professional Horseman, he lives on site at the farm. Drew has a history with the farm that now houses Silver Eagle Stable. He grew up on this farm, and as a young boy he was first introduced to horses by taking full charge of the equine residents, and learning all aspects of the horse industry. He quickly grasped the concept of caring for the horses, knowing their quirks and dealing with the equestrian owner and the demands of running a full time facility. Within a relatively short time Drew, excelled in his riding skills and customer service. Drew Van Hook went on to show and compete in the show pen against many top riders with great success. Drew knew he was born to break and train horses, that lead to furthering his pursuit of all things equestrian by breaking and training horses professionally. Drew has ridden for numerous trainers - advancing his knowledge , skill and quest for perfection towards excellence in the horse industry. He has since trained hundreds of horses, and taught many students some of which have gone on to win multiple show titles, year end awards and state championships. Drew is looking forward to continuing his ongoing quest for professional leadership in the equestrian field. Tom Russell- Owner
Tom Russell is the owner of the Silver Eagle Stable. He's a retired Marine Corps Colonel and the son of an Army officer. Tom grew up on military installations in the country and started riding in 1973, at military base stables. His riding was interrupted - off and on with military maneuvers , college and then with deployments when he became a full time Marine. Upon retiring, Tom established a successful consulting company and has now decided to pursue something that he has enjoyed since his days in the 70's. Tom has shared his life and love of horses with his wife, Vicki Russell for 28 years - together they have three children and one granddaughter.
